A Guitar Serenade with Visual Art and Reception at Rough Point
Puddingstone Music welcomes you to a musical summer salon at Rough Point with guitarist and composer Thatcher Harrison and visual artist Kevin Calisto. This one-night gathering brings music and visual art into the same space, giving both room to unfold at an unhurried pace. Harrison’s program mixes classical technique, fingerstyle guitar, and jazz-inflected improvisation, moving from Gershwin’s “Love Is Here to Stay” to original pieces that show his own voice. Calisto’s recent works will be placed throughout the performance space so that the paintings and the music are in quiet dialogue with one another. Over the course of the evening, sound and imagination build a shared artistic space—something to sit inside, rather than rush through. Rough Point’s stunning historic setting frames it all, in keeping with Puddingstone Music’s focus on thoughtful, cross-disciplinary programs.
